Falcon Drilling Ltd. |
Company History
|
Falcon Drilling Ltd. was formed by Grant and Gary Paulson in 1986 in Prince George, British Columbia. The decision to form the company, based upon their particular inerests and experiences, was the culmination of a long historical association with resource industries in B.C. This involvement has since been enthusistically encouraged and developed by the principals. Both were raised and educated in B.C. and from their earliest working days were employed in forestry and mining endeavours. Both held Commercial Helicopter Pilots licences and flew many hours in support of mining exploration projects. Grant Paulson also holds a Fixed Wing Pilots licence with float endorsement. Gary Paulson has had extensive experience in the construction industry, was a qualified carpenter and quantity surveyor, and, in the helicopter industry, was also the Operations Manager at Northern Mountain Helicopters. Both have forestry operations experience and have operated heavy construction equipment. They are also experienced hard rock diamond drillers. At inception the company was involved in such notable projects as the "Snip" and Eskay Creek" and developed a reputation for successfully tackling jobs that no one else would undertake. Since then Falcon has successfully weathered the periodic difficult times in the mining industry. A great deal of this success was due to the “in house” innovative ideas and designs used in thieir drilling equipment and a close cooperative association with their employees. Falcon has now expanded into a global operation with drilling operations completed or underway in Africa, Asia, the Pacific region, South, Central and North America. Regional offices have been established in some of these areas. These offices provide employment and training for local people and provide superior support for Falcon’s clients in foreign operating environments. The reputation and high regard in which the company is held has enabled the attraction of highly experienced management and field operation personnel. |
