A group of local villagers recovering gold in a locally made sluicing operation is illustrated here. The extracted
ore is crushed locally using manual pedstal and mortar techniques and the resultant slurry is mixed with water and poured
over a sluice consisiting of baffle plates and carpet lining! The sluice runoff is panned for any residual gold fines.
